The PE foam breathable liner is a chemically resistant, pressure-equalizing induction seal liner engineered for thick bleach gel and viscous toilet cleaner formulations. It features a resilient, closed-cell PE foam backing that withstands prolonged contact with high-pH sodium hypochlorite gels and acid-based thickened cleaners without degradation or softening. An integrated ePTFE waterproof breathable membrane window provides controlled ventilation of chlorine gas and oxygen continuously generated by these reactive products. The PE foam's excellent compressibility creates a reliable seal against the bottle neck, accommodating the slight irregularities common in toilet cleaner packaging. This liner keeps gel bottles dimensionally stable, prevents dangerous pressure buildup that could cause the product to forcefully expel when opened, and maintains a clean, leak-proof seal even when the angled-neck bottle is stored in any orientation.
Bleach gels and thickened toilet cleaners are chemically aggressive and gas-generating. Sodium hypochlorite bleach gels slowly decompose, releasing chlorine gas and oxygen. Acid-based thickened cleaners can react with carbonates in residues to produce carbon dioxide. These gases accumulate in the sealed bottle headspace, progressively increasing internal pressure. The thick, clinging nature of these products means they coat the inside of the bottle and neck, making any seal interface vulnerable to chemical attack. Unvented bottles become dangerously pressurized; when the consumer squeezes the bottle or opens the flip cap, product can forcefully squirt or spray, risking eye contact, skin burns, or fabric damage. Standard PE foam liners without venting trap the pressure, while inadequately chemically resistant foams soften and leak.
The PE foam breathable liner is specifically formulated for these harsh conditions. The closed-cell PE foam is chemically resistant to both bleach and acid formulations, maintaining its compressive strength and dimensional integrity through months of product contact. The integrated ePTFE membrane window provides a safe, continuous vent path for generated gases, keeping internal bottle pressure at ambient levels. The bottle remains safe to handle and open, with no risk of product ejection. The PE foam conforms to the bottle neck surface, compensating for any minor molding imperfections, and the induction seal provides a strong, tamper-evident bond that prevents leakage even when the characteristic angled-neck toilet cleaner bottle is laid on its side for storage.

The PE foam breathable liner is inserted into the cap and induction-sealed to the bottle neck. The PE foam faces the product, providing a chemically resistant, compressible sealing surface. As the bleach gel or acid cleaner slowly generates gases, the gases migrate to the headspace and pass through the ePTFE membrane window's nanopores. The gases escape into the cap and vent harmlessly. The membrane's nanoscale pore structure and low surface energy prevent the viscous gel from penetrating, even when the bottle is squeezed during use or stored upside down. The induction seal remains intact and tamper-evident until the consumer peels it away, at which point the entire liner—foam and membrane—is removed in one piece.
