This PFAS-free waterproof breathable film is supplied in custom-width master rolls, optimized for high-volume manufacturing environments. The fluorine-free film provides reliable venting performance for millions of parts per year, making it suitable for automotive, consumer electronics, and appliance industries. With consistent thickness and air permeability tolerance across the entire roll length, this film integrates seamlessly into automated converting lines, lamination presses, and injection-molding insert feeders.
High-volume production demands material uniformity and waste reduction. Converting lines running at high speeds cannot tolerate thickness variations or inconsistent air permeability. Switching from ePTFE to a PFAS-free film should not require machine downtime for re-tuning. The film must be available in exact customer-specified widths to minimize trim waste and roll changes, all while delivering equivalent breathability and waterproofness.
We manufacture PFAS-free breathable film in a dedicated continuous casting line with closed-loop thickness control. The film is wound into custom-width logs and then slit to your precise roll width specification. Each roll comes with a certificate of conformance showing air permeability, water entry pressure, and thickness data from web inspection systems. We can also apply in-line corona treatment for optimal adhesive receptivity. This film is the sustainable backbone for your high-speed vent part production.
Used by converters making adhesive vent patches for automotive lamps, by injection molders inserting membrane into tooling for overmolding, by acoustic vent manufacturers stamping speaker port meshes, and by filter manufacturers seeking PFAS-free hydrophobic layers.
The roll is loaded onto an unwind station. The film passes through tension control dancers and is fed into a die-cut press, laminator, or mold insert station. The microporous structure, created through controlled stretching, remains intact during the conversion process. When incorporated into a final part, the membrane provides continuous air exchange and liquid water barrier, maintaining enclosure IP rating.
Provide your current film specification (thickness, Gurley number, water entry pressure). We will cross-reference our PFAS-free grade. Trial a 100-meter sample roll on your line to validate winding tension and slitting quality. Specify core diameter and roll diameter constraints. We can also offer silicone-coated release liners as an interleave if needed.
