The multi-layer laminating and die cutting line for aluminum foil induction seal liners is a comprehensive, in-line converting system engineered to manufacture the complex, multi-layer vented and non-vented induction seal liners used in pharmaceutical, food, beverage, chemical, and cosmetic packaging. This integrated production line combines precision hot-melt and pressure-sensitive adhesive lamination stations, a servo-driven rotary or flatbed die cutting module with precise kiss-cut control, and a fully automated finished part stacking and counting system. It is designed to continuously laminate the constituent layers—aluminum foil, PET film, polymer foam or paperboard backing, heat-seal film, and an optional ePTFE breathable membrane window—and then die-cut the finished liners to the exact diameter required for specific bottle neck finishes. By consolidating all processes into a single, continuous line, it eliminates work-in-process inventory, reduces material handling damage, ensures perfect layer-to-layer registration, and achieves the high throughput required to competitively supply the global induction seal market.
Aluminum foil induction seal liners are complex multi-layer structures. A typical vented liner for a bleach or disinfectant bottle includes: a layer of heat-sealable film (LDPE or EVA), a layer of aluminum foil for its barrier properties, a PET backing for strength, a die-cut PE foam or pulp backing for compressibility, and a small ePTFE membrane window precisely positioned over a ventilation hole in the foil. Manufacturing this structure traditionally involves separate processes: a laminator to combine the layers, a sheeter to cut the material into sheets, and a die cutting press to cut the individual liners from the sheets. This batch workflow introduces multiple handling steps, work-in-process inventory, and opportunities for material damage, misregistration, and contamination. For liners with a breathable membrane window, the ePTFE patch must be placed and laminated in precise registration with the die-cut ventilation hole—a difficult operation to achieve reliably in a batch process. An in-line solution eliminates these inefficiencies and quality risks.
The multi-layer laminating and die cutting line integrates every step into one continuous process. At the front of the line, multiple unwind stations feed the individual material layers. Heated nip rollers laminate the heat-seal film to the aluminum foil. A precision adhesive application station applies a thin, even layer of adhesive. The PE foam or pulp backing is married to the foil laminate. For vented liners, a dedicated station precisely places the die-cut ePTFE membrane patch over the pre-punched ventilation hole in the foil, using a vision-guided placement system for ±0.2mm accuracy. The fully assembled multi-layer web then enters the die cutting module. Here, the individual induction seal liners are kiss-cut from the continuous web. The kiss cut must penetrate all the way through the foam, foil, and film layers, but stop within the release liner or directly cut the full circumference cleanly depending on the liner delivery format. After die cutting, the waste skeleton is stripped and rewound. The finished liners proceed to a counting and stacking station, where they are automatically counted into stacks of a pre-set quantity (e.g., 500 or 1000 liners) and discharged for packaging.

The production line starts with the bottom layer unwind—usually the release liner or the heat-seal film, depending on the construction. Each subsequent unwind adds the next layer: aluminum foil, PET film, PE foam or pulp backing. Adhesive is applied at the nip between each layer. For vented liners, a vision camera detects the pre-punched hole in the aluminum foil, and a high-speed pick-and-place robot places the pre-cut ePTFE membrane patch over the hole with precision. The assembled web then passes through a final compression nip to ensure a complete bond. The continuous web enters the die cutting module. The rotary die cylinder or flatbed die cuts the individual liners to the exact diameter. The waste skeleton is stripped away and rewound. The finished liners, still on the liner or as individual pieces, move to the counting and stacking station. Here, a sensor counts each liner, and when the pre-set stack quantity is reached, the stacker automatically discharges the stack onto an outfeed conveyor.
