Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are simple, manually-operated devices designed for easy operation without requiring expert intervention. These starters feature a button or rotary knob that controls the connected equipment through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts to start or stop the motor.

Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The engaged starter motor then turns the engine's flywheel, initiating the combustion process in petrol and diesel engines.
Once the engine is running independently, the starter motor automatically disengages from the flywheel, as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
