Note: Manual starters don't break control circuits during power loss, which may cause automatic motor restart when power returns. Consider this safety factor for critical appliions.
Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, activating the starter drive mechanism (Bendix gear) which engages the flywheel.
The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine runs independently, the starter disengages from the flywheel as the electrical spark is no longer needed.
