Manual starters are simple, user-friendly devices operated manually without requiring expert intervention. These starters feature a button or rotary knob that controls the connected equipment through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts to start or stop the motor.
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system).
The engaged starter motor turns the engine's flywheel, initiating combustion in petrol and diesel engines. Once the engine runs independently, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel as the electrical spark is no longer required.
