Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system).
The starter motor turns to crank the engine, initiating the combustion process in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark.
