Part 1425867 front crankshaft oil seal is installed at the front end of the CAT 3406 engine crankshaft inside the timing gear cover. It seals the gap between the rotating crankshaft and stationary gear housing, blocks engine lubricating oil from leaking outward, and prevents dust, sediment and water from entering the timing chamber to protect gears and bearings.

1. Difference between 1425867 and 1425868 CAT 3406 oil seals

   1425867 = Front crankshaft oil seal (green housing); 1425868 = Rear crankshaft oil seal (blue housing), they are used in pairs for the front and rear ends of the crankshaft respectively.
