Serving as an independent pressure protection valve for the swing hydraulic circuit, it performs four core functions: limiting maximum system pressure, relieving pressure spikes during swing start/stop, stabilizing pressure during braking, and providing overload relief buffering. It is an indispensable safety pressure control component for the excavator's swing motor assembly.

The valve spool utilizes micron-level precision sliding clearances, and all internal flow passages feature chamfered edges and deburring to minimize erosion and cavitation damage caused by high-pressure oil flow. A simple integrated filtration structure at the inlet blocks large iron filings and debris from entering the spool sealing interface. This design significantly reduces the risk of valve jamming and subsequent swing system failure—even when hydraulic oil filters are not replaced on schedule or oil cleanliness is suboptimal—making it well-suited for the realities of rough maintenance practices on construction sites.
