The GVO cartridge-style relief valve is a core hydraulic pressure protection component specifically engineered for Komatsu PC20R, PC27R, and PC28UU ultra-compact mini-excavators. Serving as a critical pressure-regulating safety valve within the multi-way control valve assembly, it directly governs the hydraulic system's maximum operating pressure, thereby determining the machine's digging force, operational responsiveness, and the service life of precision components such as hydraulic pumps and cylinders.

The sealing assembly and external structural design are optimized for the harsh operating conditions typical of mini-excavators—including confined engine compartments, poor heat dissipation, high summer oil temperatures, exposure to mud and water splashes, and frequent vibrations during travel. Comprehensive upgrades have been implemented to enhance sealing integrity, weather resistance, and vibration tolerance. The valve's top section features a red limit ring paired with a high-temperature-resistant fluororubber (FKM) O-ring, ensuring long-term resistance against corrosion from degraded hydraulic fluid and preventing hardening, cracking, or aging caused by rapid temperature fluctuations.

A thickened, oil-resistant nitrile rubber (NBR) high-pressure seal is installed at the threaded mounting section; this dual-seal configuration effectively prevents high-pressure hydraulic fluid leakage. Even during continuous operation in rainy, muddy conditions, dusty demolition sites, or damp basements, the valve maintains a leak-free seal at the interface with the valve block and prevents seepage through the threads. The mounting threads are produced using a precision thread-rolling process, resulting in well-formed, uniform threads that ensure smooth installation into the valve cavity without the risk of cross-threading or stripping the valve port. The multi-step locking hex nut at the rear distributes stress evenly, ensuring the valve remains securely fastened despite the constant vibrations caused by frequent turning and rough travel, thereby eliminating pressure drift or misalignment issues associated with prolonged vibration.
