Product Introduction

This coolant temperature sensor, part number 320-04554, is compatible with 3CX and 4CX excavators and loaders. It is a core sensing component of the engine cooling electronic control system for construction machinery. 

The brass probe of the sensor directly contacts the engine coolant and collects real-time water temperature data, which is then converted into an electrical signal and transmitted to the equipment ECU. The electronic control unit uses the collected temperature signals to adjust the fuel injection strategy, control the start and stop operation of the cooling fan, automatically increase the fuel injection volume during cold start to improve the low-temperature start performance; during high-temperature operation, it drives the cooling system to cool down the engine and keep it stable within the optimal working temperature range. Once the sensor becomes aged and fails, it will cause faults such as distorted water temperature display, difficulty in cold start, abnormal operation of the cooling fan, and high-temperature alarm of the engine. In severe cases, it can lead to cylinder overheating and cylinder seizure. It is a frequently used vulnerable component for JCB dual-purpose excavators during maintenance and replacement.
