Cause

As excavators age, the entire cooling system assembly degrades as an integrated system rather than individual components failing in isolation. The aluminum tanks develop micro-cracks at the brazed joint connections to the core, the rubber mounting isolators harden and lose their vibration-damping properties, and the internal tube surfaces accumulate scale deposits that reduce heat transfer efficiency. Replacing only the core while retaining aged tanks and worn mounting components often results in shortened service life for the new core.

Solution

This complete assembly replaces the entire radiator unit including core, tanks, and mounting brackets. The brazed aluminum core is manufactured using controlled-atmosphere brazing (CAB) for joint integrity, the tanks are formed from 3.0 mm aluminum alloy for durability, and new rubber mounting isolators are included to absorb structural vibration from the excavator upper frame. How It Works

The complete cooling assembly functions as an integrated heat exchange system. Hot coolant from the engine flows into the inlet tank, which distributes the fluid evenly across all tubes in the 3-row core. As ambient air passes through the fin stack, heat transfers from the coolant through the aluminum tube walls and fins to the air stream. The cooled fluid collects in the outlet tank and returns to the engine. The rubber mounting isolators between the radiator and the excavator frame absorb structural vibration, protecting the brazed joints from fatigue cracking over extended service life.
