Dyed glass fiber cloth is a functional textile material made from high-performance glass fibers as the substrate and processed through special dyeing techniques. It combines the excellent physical and chemical properties of glass fiber with color decoration, and is widely used in industrial protection, building decoration, aerospace, and electronic insulation fields.
Due to the smooth and inert surface of glass fiber, conventional dyes are difficult to adhere to. The preparation of dyed glass fiber cloth mainly relies on the following technical paths:
Raw liquid coloring method: In the process of glass melting and drawing, metal oxide coloring agents (such as cobalt, chromium, iron and other compounds) are directly added to the glass batch to make the fibers themselves appear colored. This method has uniform color and excellent weather resistance, but the color selection is relatively limited.
Surface dyeing/printing method:
Chemical bonding: Using dyes containing active groups such as amino groups, chemical reactions occur with silanol groups on the surface of glass fibers to generate stable alkoxysilane structures, which firmly fix the dyes on the fiber surface.
Resin coating coloring: the woven glass cloth surface is coated with wear-resistant resin containing pigment (such as methyl acrylate, PVC or polytetrafluoroethylene lotion), and then cured at high temperature to form a color protective layer. This method has rich colors and can achieve complex pattern printing, commonly used for decorating wall fabrics and sunshades.
