The mezzanine shelf is one of the widely used shelving types, suitable for the majority of warehouses or product storage needs.
The mezzanine shelving system involves constructing an intermediate mezzanine on existing workspaces or shelving to increase storage capacity. It can be designed as two or three levels, suitable for storing lightweight, bulky, and medium-to-small-sized goods, ideal for multi-variety large-batch or small-batch goods. Manual handling is employed, with goods typically transported to the second or third floor via forklifts, hydraulic elevating platforms, or freight elevators, then delivered to specific locations using light-duty carts or hydraulic pallet trucks.
This system usually utilizes medium-duty or heavy-duty pallet racking as the main structure and floor panel support (selection based on the total load capacity of individual racking units). Floor panels typically consist of cold-rolled steel flooring, patterned steel flooring, or steel grating flooring. In recent years, cold-rolled steel flooring has been widely adopted due to its advantages such as high load-bearing capacity, excellent structural integrity, uniform load distribution, high precision, smooth surface, and easy locking. It offers multiple types for selection and integrates seamlessly with lighting systems, ensuring convenient storage and management.
Each racking unit typically has a load capacity of under 500kg per level, with floor spacing generally ranging from 2.2 to 2.7m. The height of the top floor is usually around 2m, fully considering operational convenience for human-machine interaction. This system is extensively applied in industries such as automotive components, automotive 4S stores, light industry, and electronics.
