Ohmalloy049 is a copper-nickel alloy (Cu56Ni44 alloy), characterized in that high resistance, high degree of deputivity, and good corrosion resistance. It is suitable for typical applications of Ohmalloy49 at temperatures up to 400 ° C, which is a temperature stable potentiometer, industrial varistor and motor starter resistance.

A combination of negligible temperature coefficients and high resistance makes a alloy split of a winding of a precision resistor.
Ohmalloy049 is manufactured from electrolytic copper and pure nickel. In a thinner wire size, the alloy is designated as Ohmalloy49TC (thermocouple).
