Description
Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is a high-quality carbon material that is used as a carbon raiser in the steel and foundry industries. GPC is produced by heating Petroleum Coke to a high temperature, which causes the carbon atoms to bond into a crystalline structure, making it highly pure and dense.
In the refractory industry, GPC is used as a raw material in the production of high-performance refractory materials. GPC's excellent thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion make it ideal for use in refractory applications, where it can be used to improve the performance of castables, ramming mixes, and gunning mixes.
In the steel industry, GPC is used as a carbon additive in the production of high-quality steel. GPC's high carbon content and low sulfur and ash content make it a preferred choice over other carbon materials. It is added to molten steel or iron to increase the carbon content, which improves the strength and hardness of the final product.
In the foundry industry, GPC is used as a fuel and as a filler in sand molds. Its high carbon content and low ash content make it an ideal material for this purpose.
