Description
Ferro Molybdenum is an alloy made by combining iron and molybdenum. Ferro Molybdenum is a quenching agent found in many heat treatable alloy steels. Molybdenum prevents corrosion of stainless steel and, when mixed with iron, it also strengthens and hardens into austenite.
Ferro-molybdenum is available in a variety of grades, but two grades (one for the United States and one for the European Union) are primarily produced with pure molybdenum contents between 60 and 75 percent.

Additionally, the adding of Ferro Molybdenum to an alloy can increase corrosion resistance. Properties of Ferro Molybdenum make it suitable for a variety of protective films over other metals.
