Ferrosilicon Description
Ferrosilicon is used as an inoculant and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry. Cast iron is an important metal material in modern industry. It is cheaper than steel, easy to smelt, and has better casting properties and shock resistance than steel. Especially for spheroidal graphite cast iron, its mechanical properties reach or approach steel. Adding a certain amount of ferrosilicon to cast iron can prevent the formation of carbides in iron and promote the precipitation and granulation of graphite. Therefore, in the production of block cast iron, ferrosilicon is an important inoculum (substance that helps graphite precipitation) and nodular agent.

Ferrosilicon Application
(1) Used as deoxidizer and alloying agent in steelmaking industry.
(2) Used as an inoculant and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry
