High carbon ferrochrome is applicable to a wide range of industries. Because high carbon ferrochrome is hard and has excellent wear resistance and high temperature resistance, it is also popular. High carbon ferrochrome suppliers will introduce its oxidation blowing method:

First of all, we should know that the main task of oxidation blowing of high carbon ferrochrome is to decarburize and preserve chromium. When oxygen is blown into liquid high carbon ferrochrome, chromium and iron are oxidized first because the content of chromium and iron accounts for more than 90% of the total alloy.

Secondly, these oxides oxidize the silicon in the alloy. As chromium, iron and silicon are oxidized, the temperature of the molten pool increases rapidly, and the decarburization reaction develops rapidly. The higher the temperature, the more conducive to the decarburization reaction, and the oxidation reaction of chromium can be inhibited, and the carbon in the alloy can be reduced. In short, the oxidation blowing method is to blow oxygen directly into liquid high carbon ferrochrome to decarburize it and obtain medium and low carbon ferrochrome, which can obtain more types of ferrochrome.
