Why Choose FH® Roller Hearth Baskets?
1. Designed for Continuous Furnace Demands
Roller hearth furnaces run 24/7 with long hot zones, heavy loads, and aggressive carburizing atmospheres. Ordinary baskets sag, bind on rollers, or crack from thermal fatigue. FH® baskets are specifically engineered for these conditions.
2. Bottom Runner Design – Critical for Roller Hearth
| Feature | Benefit |
| Smooth ground runners | Prevents roller damage and uneven tracking |
| Optimized runner spacing | Matches your roller pitch exactly |
| Reinforced underside | Distributes load evenly, reduces local sagging |
| Anti-weld-drop design | No sharp edges that catch on rollers |
3. Material Selection Guide
| Material | Max Temp | Best For |
| 310S | 950°C | General carburizing, moderate loads, budget-conscious |
| 1.4828 | 1000°C | Higher temperature, good anti-carburization |
| 1.4849 | 1100°C | Heavy loads, long cycles, aggressive carburizing |
4. Continuous Production Reliability

FAQ:
Q1: Why can't I use a standard basket in a roller hearth furnace?
A: Standard baskets often have uneven bottoms, sharp edges, or insufficient creep strength. Over time they sag, causing rocking, roller binding, and even furnace jams. FH® roller hearth baskets feature precision runners, reinforced bases, and high-creep alloys to maintain flatness and smooth tracking.
Q2: What material do you recommend for a carburizing roller hearth furnace at 950°C?
A: For 950°C continuous with carburizing atmosphere, we recommend 1.4849 for maximum life (400–500 cycles). If budget is a priority and temperatures are stable at ≤920°C, 310S is acceptable (250–350 cycles). FH® provides free material recommendations.
Q3: How do I clean and maintain the basket?
A: Light bead blasting (glass beads, ≤0.3 MPa) every 50–80 cycles to remove carbon soot. Check bottom runners for wear or distortion every 100 cycles. Do not use carbon steel brushes or heavy grinding on runner surfaces – they must remain smooth for roller contact.
Q4: Will the basket warp or sag over time?
A: Minimal. FH® baskets are designed with FEA-optimized ribs and reinforced runners. Typical creep: <3 mm sag per 1000 mm length after 300 cycles. Overloading or exceeding recommended temperature accelerates warping.
Q5: What is your warranty?
A: 12 months against manufacturing defects (weld cracks, material flaws). Normal creep, surface carburization, and runner wear are considered wear – not covered. Every basket comes with a material test certificate (MTC).
