Fiberglass surfboard fabrics are designed with the highest clarity and strength. E-glass is consistently the best in strength, clarity and finish. 4oz and 6oz are two standard weights of glass used in surfboard construction. E-glass cloth is a high-performanced and cost effective material for surfboard. 4oz fibre glass fabric roll is usually used for shortboard.
If glass a surfboard, fiber glass cloth is used in serveral layers always. Fiberglass fabric can keep the weight of surfboard down but keep in great strength. 4oz fabric is weighed at 125g/m2 and it is 0.12mm thick. It is woven in plain weave.
