The NORGREN 18D Series (Model 0880 / 0881) is an electro-mechanical pneumatic pressure switch designed for industrial automation applications. This proven diaphragm-actuated pressure monitor is ideal for pressure alarm, interlock, and loop control systems. Manufactured by IMI NORGREN, it supports a wide pressure range from vacuum levels up to 30 bar working pressure. Users can choose from multiple port options including G1/4, 1/4 NPT, and flange mounting to suit various installation needs.

For electrical connectivity, the pressure switch offers two types of connections: DIN EN 175301-803 Form-A and M12×1 IEC 947-5-2. Additionally, there are LABS-free variants available along with brass-body special versions tailored for water service. These options make the series suitable for neutral gases, liquids, and water-based media under different working conditions.

The device is equipped with a gold-plated contact microswitch that is UL and CSA certified, ensuring intrinsically safe operation. It can resist vibrations up to 15 g and provides an outstanding mechanical service life of up to 10 ⁷ switching cycles while maintaining excellent repeatability. The standard housing is made of aluminum alloy, whereas models intended for water applications feature a brass housing. Seal materials include both NBR and FPM, and the pressure switch is rated with a maximum ingress protection of IP67, making it suitable for harsh factory environments.

When the system pressure reaches the preset set-point, the SPDT micro-switch activates, outputting an electrical signal used for machine interlocking, alarms, and on-off control of pneumatic machines, hydraulic circuits, and water-treatment equipment.

Note: It is recommended that the set-points be positioned preferably in the middle of the pressure range. Do not exceed the rated pressure indicated on the device nameplate. For inductive loads, spark-quenching protection circuits are required. Connectors such as DIN or M12 plugs are sold separately and are not included with the switch.

This model provides an SPDT switch output along with fixed hysteresis, allowing unrestricted mounting positions for installation flexibility. Seal materials are selectable between NBR and FPM, with LABS-free versions available to meet full vacuum-range requirements.
