The SMC AR425 to AR935 series represents a line of internally pilot-operated, relieving-type air pressure regulators. Within this range, the AR825, AR835, AR925, and AR935 sub-series are part of the large-bore category, featuring port sizes from 1-1/4" up to 2". These models are specifically engineered for use in central compressor stations, high-flow main lines, and multi-station centralized air supply systems.
The pilot-operated mechanism utilizes supply air to actuate the main valve, which offers significant advantages. Compared to direct-acting regulators, this design ensures superior outlet pressure stability, reduces pressure drops at high flow rates, and minimizes outlet pressure fluctuations in response to variations in inlet pressure.
This collection includes a total of 14 part numbers. It covers the 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" AR825 and AR835 models, including versions equipped with gauges (denoted as G versions). It also includes the 2" AR925 and AR935 models, also in gauge-equipped variants, along with the 2" X218 semi-standard special configurations.
Regarding pressure ranges, the high-pressure types (designated as 25: AR825/AR925) offer adjustable settings from 0.05 to 0.83 MPa. Meanwhile, the low-pressure precision types (denoted as 35: AR835/AR935) cover 0.02 to 0.2 MPa. This range adequately supports both general pneumatic system requirements and applications demanding low-pressure precision, such as electronics manufacturing, coating processes, and laboratory air supply.
The product features large bore ports sized at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2", designed to accommodate mains and multi-drop centralized supply systems efficiently.
It incorporates an internal pilot relieving mechanism that automatically vents any excess outlet pressure to the atmosphere, ensuring safe and stable operation.
There are two available pressure ranges for this unit: a high range from 0.05 to 0.83 MPa, and a low precision range from 0.02 to 0.2 MPa, catering to different application requirements.
The body is constructed from die-cast aluminum, providing a robust and durable structure suitable for industrial plant environments. The AR825/835 models weigh approximately 2.5 kg, while the AR925/935 models are slightly heavier at 4.5 kg.
Units with the G suffix are supplied with a G46 series panel pressure gauge, which allows for easy and clear local pressure readings directly on-site.
The X218 suffix denotes an SMC semi-standard special configuration. Customers should consult with the sales team to confirm the exact specifications required for their applications.
To prevent accidental adjustments after setting, a locking screw is provided on the adjusting handle, enhancing operational safety.
Thread options including Rc (PTF), NPT (F), and G threads are available upon request to meet various connection standards.
