Material: Hydraulic accumulators are typically made of carbon steel and other materials. They possess high strength and corrosion resistance, making them capable of withstanding the high pressure found in hydraulic systems.
Structure: Generally, hydraulic accumulators feature a bladder type structure comprising an oil part and a gas part with a gas sealing element. The oil surrounding the bladder connects to the oil circuit, while the compressible gas, often nitrogen, is used to store and release energy.
Specifications: Volvo accumulators are available in various specifications to suit different applications and system requirements. These include different volume and working pressure ratings. Common volume specifications range from 0.075L to 3.5L, while the working pressure can reach up to 33MPa.
Energy Storage and Release: These accumulators operate by storing and releasing energy in the hydraulic system. When system pressure increases, oil enters the accumulator and compresses the gas, converting hydraulic energy into internal gas energy for storage. Conversely, when system pressure decreases, the compressed gas expands, pushing oil into the circuit to release stored energy and stabilize pressure.
Absorption of Hydraulic Shock: Hydraulic accumulators effectively absorb pressure shocks caused by sudden directional valve reversals or abrupt actuator stops, safeguarding system instruments, components, and seals while reducing vibration and noise.
Elimination of Pulsation: In hydraulic systems using piston pumps with few pistons, these accumulators absorb pulsating pressure and flow energy generated by pump flow changes, minimizing pulsations and reducing damage to sensitive instruments and equipment.
Emergency Energy Source: In special scenarios like engine failure, the hydraulic accumulator can function as an emergency energy source, providing pressurized oil to safely lower working devices or perform critical operations, ensuring machine safety.
