Structure: Typically featuring a bladder type structure, comprising an oil part and a gas part with a gas sealing element. The oil surrounding the bladder connects to the oil circuit, leveraging the compressible nature of gas (commonly nitrogen) for energy storage and release.
Specifications: Volvo accumulators are available in various specifications to suit different application scenarios and system requirements, including diverse volume options and working pressure ratings. Common volume specifications range from 0.075L to 3.5L, while the working pressure can reach up to 33MPa.
Energy Storage and Release: Within hydraulic systems, as pressure rises, oil flows into the accumulator, compressing the gas, converting hydraulic energy into gas internal energy for storage. When pressure decreases, the compressed air expands, pushing oil into the circuit and releasing stored energy to stabilize system pressure.
Absorption of Hydraulic Shock: Volvo accumulators can effectively absorb pressure shock from sudden valve reversals, actuator stoppages, and other events, safeguarding instruments, components, and seals while reducing vibration and noise.
Elimination of Pulsation: When used in hydraulic systems with piston pumps having a low number of pistons, they absorb pulsating pressure and flow energy caused by pump flow changes, minimizing pulsation and mitigating potential harm to delicate instruments and equipment.
Emergency Energy Source: In specific scenarios like engine shutdowns or hydraulic pump failures, the accumulator can act as an emergency energy source, delivering pressurized oil to lower working devices safely or carry out necessary operations to ensure machine safety.
