The vertical flame spread test apparatus is an advanced fire reaction testing instrument engineered for research and certification of construction and transportation materials. It monitors lateral flame spread across vertical samples, records ignition and extinguishing times at multiple measuring positions, calculates flame spread rate, and acquires comprehensive thermal indicators — including ignition heat, continuous combustion heat, critical heat flux and total heat release.
Integrated with visual recording, an anti-backflow safety interlock and an intelligent data acquisition system, the instrument supports standardized testing in accordance with ISO 5658-2 and ASTM E1321, making it suitable for both routine certification testing and academic fire research.
The apparatus is suitable for university fire research laboratories, national fire research institutes, independent third-party testing and certification organizations, new material R&D enterprises, and manufacturers of high-speed rail, automobile and marine interior materials. It is used for flame spread performance research and fire safety compliance testing of vertical building and transportation materials.
