CASE INTRODUCTION
In 2025, a leading pressure vessel and forging manufacturer in China—long-term supplier for Sinopec, CNPC, CNOOC, and Shenhua Group—faced recurring challenges with small flanges on valves, nozzles, and tanks. These flanges are often exposed to high pressure, corrosion, and frequent handling, which causes scratches, wear, and sealing surface damage. Conventional workshop repairs were inefficient, making on-site machining the only practical solution.
The company had already used MT’s FI26E Flange Facing Machine for more than two years and was impressed by its precision and durability. To enhance its capability in repairing small-diameter flanges, it invested in the FI14M Manual Flange Facing Machine. Compact and lightweight, the FI14M can be quickly installed on small flanges and operated manually with smooth feed control. It consistently delivers spiral grooved finishes that meet international gasket sealing standards. By using this portable tool, the customer successfully restored multiple valve and tank flanges on-site without dismantling equipment—reducing downtime, ensuring sealing reliability, and reinforcing confidence in MT’s machining solutions.
