The FI40 is a heavy-duty, ID-mounted machining system specifically engineered to correct severe structural distortion, warping, and corrosion on industrial flanges. Covering an expansive working range from 6 to 40 inches (153-1000 mm), this portable mill brings machine-shop leveling precision directly to compromised piping assets in the field.
Thermal cycling, uneven bolt torquing, and heavy welding can cause catastrophic flange warping, leading to chronic joint leakage. The FI40 acts as the frontline defense, re-machining distorted surfaces back to absolute flatness and strict ASME B16.5 geometric specifications without the massive costs of cutting out and replacing the entire pipeline.

Eliminating structural vibration is critical when cutting uneven, warped metal. The FI40 utilizes premium NSK precision bearings and induction-hardened V-shaped linear guideways to absorb intermittent cutting forces and eliminate tool chatter.
Easily restores flatness on heavily warped Raised Face (RF) and Flat Face (FF) profiles, and precision-cuts damaged Ring Type Joint (RTJ) sealing grooves.
Pneumatic: High-torque air motor that cuts through hardened, deformed material seamlessly in ATEX-regulated hazardous zones.
Electric Servo: Provides micro-controlled RPM stability, ensuring uniform metal removal across high and low spots of a warped flange.
Features six continuous, automated feed rates to precisely control the radial and axial movement, producing the exact phonographic (spiral-serrated) finish required by ASME B16.5.
Enables operators to perform internal counterboring, back-facing, and compound beveling to correct complex, multi-angle flange distortion.
