Answer: The surface area of nano-sponges is 3-4 times that of traditional foam materials (nano-sponges have a surface area of 750 square meters per gram, while traditional foam has 200 square meters per gram). This is because its optimized 50-100 micrometer pore structure enables it to have a larger surface area, thereby significantly promoting the attachment of nitrifying bacteria. Laboratory tests have shown that the ammonia oxidation rate has increased by 2.1 times.
2: In high biological load systems, will ultra-fine pores clog more quickly?
Answer: Our unique multi-directional pore design can maintain a 85% flow retention rate in water with a 5 ppm sodium ion concentration after 3 months, while the proportion for standard foam is only 40%. Backwashing every 4 to 6 weeks can prevent pore clogging.
3: Is this material safe for sensitive species such as shrimp or coral?
