The KLD800 series 80G radar level gauge utilizes frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) technology. The antenna emits high-frequency FM radar signals with linearly increasing frequency. After reflection by the measured medium, the same antenna receives the signal. The frequency difference between transmitted and received signals is proportional to the distance, which is calculated through fast Fourier transform (FFT) analysis of the echo spectrum.
