An FM200 fire detection tube is a thin-walled polymer tube filled with FM200 gas, used to both detect and suppress fires. The tube contains a pressurized internal gas that is released upon activation by heat or flame, causing the tube to rupture and rapidly discharge FM200 gas into the protected area.
The system responds to heat or flame in close proximity to the tubing. As the temperature near the tube increases, the internal pressure rises, and the tube ruptures at the point of the fire's origin.
