The FM200 Cabinet Fire Suppression System (also known as a pre-engineered fire extinguishing system) is a self-contained clean agent fire protection unit that integrates the agent storage cylinder, actuation device, piping, and discharge nozzle into a compact cabinet enclosure. It requires no complex pipe network installation and no dedicated cylinder storage room, making it particularly suitable for spaces with limited room or for retrofit projects where extensive construction is not feasible.

The unit can be placed directly inside or adjacent to the protected area and integrated with a fire alarm control panel to achieve fully automatic detection, alarm, and fire suppression. When a fire occurs, the agent is discharged within 10 seconds, rapidly filling the entire protected enclosure to achieve total flooding fire suppression.

3. Time Delay: The system enters a delay period (typically 0-30 seconds, adjustable), providing a safe window for personnel evacuation.
4. Agent Release: At the end of the delay, the control panel outputs DC24V to activate the solenoid actuator on the cylinder valve.
5. Total Flooding Fire Suppression: FM200 is discharged through the flexible hose and nozzle, filling the protected area and reaching the extinguishing concentration within 10 seconds for total flooding fire suppression.
6. Signal Feedback: After agent discharge, the pressure switch sends a feedback signal to the control panel, illuminating the discharge indicator light.

FM200 (HFC-227ea) is a colourless, odourless, low-toxicity, non-conductive, and non-corrosive clean agent. Its fire suppression mechanism combines chemical inhibition with physical cooling:

• Chemical Inhibition: Decomposes at high temperatures to release fluorine-containing free radicals, which interrupt the combustion chain reaction
• Physical Cooling: Absorbs a significant amount of heat during vaporisation, lowering the flame temperature

Suitable Fire Types:

• Class A: Solid surface fires (paper, wood, textiles, etc.)
• Class B: Liquid fires or meltable solid fires
• Class C: Electrical fires (energised equipment)

Unsuitable Fire Types:

• Chemical products containing oxidising agents (e.g., nitrocellulose, gunpowder)
• Reactive metals (potassium, sodium, magnesium, titanium, etc.)
• Metal hydrides (potassium hydride, sodium hydride, etc.)
• Self-decomposing substances (hydrogen peroxide, hydrazine, etc.)

Pre-Installation Checks:

Installation Steps:

1. Cabinet Positioning: Place the cabinet at the designated location within or adjacent to the protected area, positioned securely against a wall
2. Cylinder Installation: Place the agent cylinder inside the cabinet and secure firmly using cylinder brackets
3. Hose Connection: Connect the flexible hose and ensure the nozzle is oriented correctly
4. Power Connection: Route the DC24V power cable into the cabinet and connect to the solenoid valve interface
