The foam proportion mixing device is an essential component of any foam fire extinguishing system. When paired with medium and low expansion foam generators, it forms a complete medium and low expansion foam injection system. Its core function is to deliver a precisely proportioned foam mixed liquid to terminal discharge equipment — including foam generators, foam nozzles, foam guns, and foam cannons — for the spraying of air foam to suppress fire.
This device is suitable for Class A and Class B fires involving the production, storage, and transportation of flammable liquids, with particular effectiveness on Class B fires. It can also be integrated with high expansion foam generators to form a high expansion total flooding fire extinguishing system, making it especially well-suited for extinguishing flammable liquid storage tank fires and large-area overflow fires.
Foam tanks are available in multiple configurations to suit different site requirements. They are used to store and spray foam concentrate to suppress flames and cool burning surfaces.
During system operation, the pressurized water source fills the storage tank through the water inlet valve, compressing the internal capsule to displace the foam liquid. The displaced foam concentrate is then mixed with water in the correct proportion within the proportion mixer to form a low expansion foam mixture. This mixture is discharged from the outlet to various low expansion foam output devices, where it is sprayed as foam to extinguish Class A and Class B fires involving oil, alcohol, and similar flammable substances.
