Cores
Description
The fiber optic cable's design incorporates high modulus plastic tubes housing the fibers, fortified with a
water-resistant compound. A central steel wire, possibly coated in polyethylene for high-fiber-count vari-
ants, acts as a metallic strength component. These tubes and fillers enclose the strength member, crea-
ting a compact, circular cable core. To protect against water, the core is filled with a protective compound
and enclosed in a thin PE inner sheath. The application of PSP (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is followed
by adding a PE outer sheath, completing the cable's construction.
