Product Description:
Minimal impact on drilling fluid performance: Traditional weighting agents (such as barite) easily lead to increased viscosity and shear force of drilling fluid, necessitating additional viscosifiers; whereas sodium formate, after dissolving, becomes ionic and has minimal impact on the rheology of drilling fluid, reducing the amount of treatment agents required.
Strong resistance to salt contamination: In saline formations (such as salt-gypsum layers), sodium formate does not readily react with salt ions to form precipitates, maintaining the stability of drilling fluid and preventing sudden density drops due to salting out.
Sodium formate is highly soluble in water, and its dissociated sodium ions (Na⁺) increase the ionic concentration of the drilling fluid.
