In the glazing step, the sponge quickly absorbs excess liquid from the glaze brush, keeping the glaze layer even and thin while avoiding runs or buildup on the surface. The soft material will not damage sable or nylon brush tips. Repeated dabbing keeps the brush shape, extending the life of valuable ceramic brushes. The material is degreased so no lint or fiber remains after wiping, which prevents contamination of porcelain powder or glaze liquid and protects the cleanliness of the restoration surface. The sponge can be rinsed and reused, regaining its loft after drying, making it a daily essential consumable for porcelain build-up and glazing in the dental laboratory.
Q: Can I replace this sponge with a regular cosmetic cotton pad
A: Not recommended. Ordinary cotton pads shed fibers that contaminate the ceramic surface, and their absorbency and feel are different. A professional absorbent sponge is degreased and density-optimized for the precision needed in build-up and glazing.
Q: How often should the sponge be replaced
