SPC Click Lock Flooring for Residential & Commercial Interiors

Stone Plastic Composite (SPC) rigid core flooring with mechanical click-lock joints. This product reference explains available sizes, wear layer selection, installation requirements, test methods and the information buyers need to evaluate a bulk order.

Overview

What Is SPC Click Lock Flooring?

SPC is a rigid-core resilient floor covering commonly made with a mineral-filled PVC composite core, decorative print and protective wear surface. A mechanical click-lock edge allows suitable planks to be assembled as a floating floor without bonding every plank directly to the subfloor.

For purchasing decisions, overall thickness is only one variable. Wear layer performance, dimensional stability, locking-joint quality, subfloor conditions and the exact tested construction also affect how a flooring product performs in service.

Specification principle: Compare flooring products by matching construction and independently measured results—not by the words “commercial grade” or “waterproof” alone.
01 / Construction

SPC Flooring Layer Structure

Layer details vary by design and SKU. A typical construction includes:

UV Surface FinishHelps protect the upper surface against routine staining and cleaning wear. Coating durability requires testing.
Transparent Wear LayerProtects the printed pattern from abrasion; check its actual thickness and the complete floor's performance.
Wood / Stone Decorative FilmGives the plank its visual finish. Check color, embossing and batch consistency using approved samples.
Rigid SPC CoreProvides a relatively rigid body; formulation and process control influence stability and indentation behavior.
Click-Lock JointInterlocking edges designed for specified floating installations. Joint profile and strength differ between products.
Optional IXPE BackingAttached backing may affect comfort and impact noise. Sound ratings depend on the tested floor assembly.

Simplified construction illustration; actual product cross-section may differ.

SPC Flooring Technical Specifications

The first three size-related values below come from the supplied product description. Other options and performance claims require confirmation for the particular SKU.

SPC click flooring product specification overview
Parameter Specification / Verification
Product Category SPC Rigid Core Vinyl Plank Flooring
Core Material Stone Plastic Composite (mineral-filled PVC formulation)
Nominal Thickness 3–7 mm, depending on product model
Plank Sizes 152.4 × 914.4 mm / 182 × 1220 mm
Wear Layer Confirm exact thickness per SKU; 0.3 / 0.5 / 0.7 mm are common selection references, not confirmed options for every model
Installation Mechanical Click-Lock / Floating, subject to installation manual
Decorative Finish Wood-look / stone-look patterns; confirm actual color program
Backing IXPE may be offered; verify selected construction and backing thickness
Water Response Water-resistant SPC core; joints and installed assembly are not a waterproof membrane
Reaction to Fire Original listing states Bfl-s1; product-specific EN 13501-1 report required before this classification is claimed
Dimensions / Tolerances Request measured length, width, squareness, total thickness and tolerances
Packing Confirm pieces/carton, m²/carton, gross weight and pallet quantity
Verification required: The original “100% Waterproof” and “Bfl-s1 Fire Rated” statements should not be presented as fully verified installation or compliance claims without appropriate evidence.
03 / Product Selection

How to Select Wear Layer Thickness

Total plank thickness and wear layer thickness are different. For example, a 5 mm plank does not necessarily have better wear resistance than a 4 mm plank. The surface system, test results and intended traffic all matter.

Wear Layer Typical Selection Context What Buyers Should Verify
0.3 mm Homes, apartments and lower-traffic rooms Residential classification, abrasion and cleaning requirements
0.5 mm Offices, rental units and moderate-traffic interiors Tested wear performance, indentation and intended-use class
0.7 mm Higher-traffic retail or commercial projects Project traffic, joint performance and model-specific test evidence
This table is selection guidance, not a certification or promise that every thickness is currently supplied. Ask for the corresponding SKU datasheet and actual use classification.
04 / Performance Verification

Useful Flooring Standards and Test Reports

Relevant test references help distributors compare offers on a consistent basis. A standard number describes a test or specification; it does not prove that the product has passed it.

Evaluation Reference Buyer Purpose
Rigid-Core Resilient Flooring ASTM F3261-26 Product specification for eligible rigid-polymeric-core resilient flooring
Overall Thickness ISO 24346 Consistent measurement of total product thickness
Dimensional Stability ISO 23999:2025 Evaluates dimensional change and curling after heat exposure
Reaction to Fire EN 13501-1 Classification of reaction-to-fire performance, including flooring-specific classes
Other Project Properties Method specified by buyer / local market Check indentation, surface wear, locking strength and emissions where required

When comparing reports, verify the report holder, product code, tested construction, laboratory, test date, actual measured values and applicable limits. Reports for another thickness or different backing may not cover the selected configuration.

Fire-class caution: Bfl-s1 is an EN 13501-1 flooring reaction-to-fire class. It should appear as a product claim only where a matching classification report applies to the supplied model and installation conditions.
05 / Installation Guidance

What Matters Before SPC Click Flooring Installation?

  • Subfloor flatness: The substrate should meet the selected product's stated tolerance; click joints do not correct an uneven surface.
  • Moisture checks: Test concrete and other susceptible substrates as required, even when the SPC core itself tolerates moisture.
  • Expansion allowance: Follow the documented perimeter gaps, movement joints and transition requirements.
  • Backing compatibility: Extra underlayment should be used only when approved for the click profile and flooring construction.
  • Wet rooms: A water-resistant plank is not a substitute for designed waterproofing, sealing or drainage.
  • Temperature and sunlight: Check heat exposure, floor-heating limits and direct-sunlight restrictions in the relevant installation manual.

The manufacturer's instructions and local building requirements take precedence over general installation examples.

06 / Materials Comparison

SPC Flooring vs. Flexible Vinyl and Laminate

Factor SPC Rigid Core Flexible Vinyl Laminate Flooring
Main Structure Rigid mineral-filled polymeric core More flexible vinyl construction Usually wood-based core
Moisture Behavior Core resists water; joint and substrate details matter Depends on product and installation Depends on core and water-resistant system
Typical Installation Mechanical floating click-lock Often glued or other approved systems Usually floating click-lock
Key Selection Risk Subfloor flatness, joint integrity and heat exposure Subfloor imperfections and suitable bonding Moisture management and edge protection

No single construction is automatically best for every project. Consider use conditions, installation labor, available test data and lifecycle maintenance.

07 / Buyer Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SPC click flooring 100% waterproof?

The SPC core is resistant to water exposure, but installed floors include joints and perimeter openings. Water can reach the substrate; the floor cannot replace a waterproofing membrane.

Does a thicker SPC plank always last longer?

No. Total thickness alone does not establish abrasion resistance or service life. Check the tested wear surface, joint quality, indentation and installation conditions.

Which wear layer should a distributor choose?

Use 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 mm as initial selection categories, then confirm the actual SKU, abrasion-related test results and intended-use classification for the target market.

Can SPC flooring be installed over existing ceramic tiles?

It may be possible when tiles are firmly bonded, dry and sufficiently flat, and the selected flooring's installation instructions permit this substrate. Grout lines and uneven surfaces may need preparation.

Is Bfl-s1 the standard fire rating of every SPC floor?

No. Bfl-s1 must be supported by an applicable EN 13501-1 classification report for the actual flooring construction and prescribed installation conditions.

Does attached IXPE make the flooring soundproof?

No. IXPE may change impact sound transmission and comfort. Any sound-rating claim needs an acoustic test for the complete relevant floor assembly.

Wholesale and Project Flooring RFQ Checklist

A technically comparable quotation starts with a complete specification, rather than only price per square meter. Distributors and project contractors should confirm the following before production:

1. Flooring ConstructionPlank length/width, total thickness, wear layer, click profile and IXPE requirements.
2. Appearance ApprovalWood/stone decor code, embossing, approved samples and batch color tolerances.
3. Performance EvidenceActual reports for dimensional stability, fire rating, indentation and market-specific requirements.
4. Logistics & Quantitiesm² per design, cartons, pallet loading, shipment terms and destination port.
Indicative bulk MOQ: 1,000 m²; confirm the order minimum by design, thickness and destination. Include the required square meters, color, size, wear layer, destination port and delivery schedule in the RFQ.
