Formaldehyde emission is a regulated property, not a marketing claim. Export buyers increasingly require documentation that the panel meets a specific class, and the class has to be decided before production — not after the container arrives at the port.

Class terminology is not universal. E0 and E1 are grades used in the Chinese and wider Asian panel trade; the United States regulates through CARB Phase 2 and TSCA Title VI. Confirm the exact scheme your market enforces before ordering, and ask for the corresponding test documentation rather than a generic statement.
Ask for a test report from a recognised laboratory identifying the panel, the method used and the measured result, together with a batch or production reference. Where a market operates a certification or registration scheme, confirm that the supplier's certification is current and covers the specific product type being supplied. Documentation should travel with the shipping documents.
Emission is concentrated at exposed core edges. Where low-emission performance is critical — schools, hospitals, childcare and office interiors — seal cut edges with edge banding and a suitable sealant, and specify the same class for every panel in the assembly rather than only the visible ones.
