Aluminium Braid, also named flexible aluminum braided strap / aluminum braided shielding sleeve, is woven from high-purity aluminum or Al-Mg alloy fine filaments via high-speed horizontal braiding machines, divided into flat braid (flexible grounding busbar) and tubular braid (EMI cable shielding sleeve). It replaces traditional copper braid for lightweight, low-cost conductive connection, grounding and electromagnetic shielding, widely adopted in new energy vehicles, power distribution, marine, aerospace and industrial automation systems.
2. Product Internal Structure
2.1 Raw Material Layer
Bare aluminium braid: 99.7% pure aluminum / 5154 Al-Mg alloy wire, single filament diameter 0.12–0.30mm
Tinned aluminium braid: ultra-thin tin plating (2–5μm) on aluminum filament surface, anti-oxidation & anti-galvanic corrosion
Multi-filament interlaced weaving (24/36/48 spindles), then cold rolling to uniform flat band; dense interlaced lattice disperses bending stress evenly, no concentrated metal fatigue.
Two-end compression welded aluminum lugs (single-hole/double-hole), fully fitted crimp without broken strands; customizable hole diameter, lug width and overall length for bolt installation.
3. Application Fields
3.1 New Energy Vehicle (EV/HEV)
Flat terminated aluminium braid as flexible ground strap between lithium battery pack, motor controller, vehicle chassis; lightweight design reduces vehicle weight, withstands road vibration long-term.
3.2 Power Distribution & Electrical Equipment
Flexible connecting busbar for switchgear, transformer, low-voltage cabinet; absorbs thermal expansion displacement of rigid copper bars, avoids assembly stress cracking.
3.3 Cable EMI/RFI Shielding
Tubular aluminium braid wrapped outside signal cables, new energy wiring harness, coaxial lines; isolates electromagnetic interference to guarantee stable signal transmission for industrial control, monitoring equipment.
3.4 Marine & Offshore Engineering
Tinned aluminium braid for ship grounding, offshore platform lightning protection; salt-spray corrosion resistance adapts marine humid saline environment, lower cost than copper braid for large-scale marine wiring projects.
3.5 Aerospace & Rail Transit
Lightweight bonding and lightning protection braid for aircraft, high-speed train cabinet connection; meets strict weight reduction requirements while ensuring continuous conductive loop.
3.6 Industrial Furnace & Heating Equipment
High-temperature aluminium braid connecting silicon carbide heating elements, fast heat dissipation, stable large-current conduction for industrial electric furnaces.
3.7 Photovoltaic & Energy Storage Station
Grounding flexible strap for PV brackets, energy storage cabinet internal connection; reduces overall project material cost, convenient on-site bending installation.
