Amino acid powder used as a fertilizer supplies plants with a wide range of essential amino acid nutrients.
Extensive studies show that amino acids, as low-molecular protein components in fertilizers, are easily absorbed by crops. They help enhance plant resistance, especially to diseases, promote and regulate crop growth and development, and improve overall crop quality.
However, this fertilizer is mainly suitable for soils deficient in secondary and trace nutrients. Because its nutrient concentration is relatively low, it is recommended to apply it together with other fertilizers to achieve optimal performance.
Glycine, one of the key amino acids, helps increase chlorophyll levels in plants, activates enzyme activity, and improves carbon dioxide uptake, resulting in stronger photosynthetic performance. This contributes to better crop quality and higher vitamin C and sugar content.
Amino acids act as effective plant growth regulators. When nutrients are adequately supplied, they stimulate strong vegetative growth above ground, reflected in increased plant height, thicker stems, more leaves, and greater dry matter accumulation. At the same time, amino acids support root system development by accelerating root establishment, increasing lateral roots, expanding root mass, and promoting root elongation.
Amino acid fertilizers leave no harmful residues in the soil after application. They help improve soil physical and chemical properties, increase water and nutrient holding capacity, and enhance soil aeration. In addition, they support beneficial soil microorganisms and optimize soil structure, leading to better soil permeability. Amino acids can also chelate excess nutrients in the soil and release or activate phosphorus, potassium, and calcium that are otherwise fixed, improving nutrient availability, enhancing soil fertility, and helping reduce overall fertilizer input.
Amino acids in the soil can adsorb and neutralize certain pesticide residues, helping to reduce their toxicity. Once taken up by plants, they enhance crop tolerance to pesticide stress. In addition, amino acids significantly improve plant resistance to adverse conditions such as drought, low temperatures, frost, and waterlogging.
A balanced profile of amino acids helps enhance overall crop quality. For example, grain protein content can be increased by about 3%. Cotton shows better fiber length and softness, vegetables develop improved flavor and taste, and ornamental plants benefit from longer flowering periods, brighter colors, and stronger fragrance. Fruits and melons grow larger with better appearance, higher sugar levels, and improved storability.
Amino acids help improve crop productivity by increasing panicle numbers, grain count, and thousand-grain weight in cereal crops. During early growth stages, they also promote effective tillering and help reduce the occurrence of empty or poorly filled grains, contributing to higher overall yields.
