The basic automation level (L1) is the core execution layer of metallurgical control systems, responsible for equipment sequence control, loop regulation, and data acquisition. For submerged arc furnaces and electric arc furnaces, the L1 control system mainly includes two platforms: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS). DCS (Distributed Control System) is an instrument control system based on microprocessors, adopting design principles of distributed control functions, centralized display and operation, balancing decentralized autonomy and comprehensive coordination. It integrates computer technology, control technology, communication technology, and display technology.
Origin: In 1975, United States launched the first DCS system - TDC2000, marking the entry of industrial control into the distributed control era.
