What Is 304 Stainless Steel Bar Grating?
304 stainless steel bar grating is an open-grid structural flooring product manufactured from Type 304 stainless steel bearing bars and cross bars. The bearing bars are the primary load-carrying members, while the cross bars connect the bearing bars to form a rigid grating panel.
In a welded stainless steel grating, the cross bars are welded to the bearing bars at their intersections, creating an integrated panel structure. This construction is widely used because it provides a stable, durable and practical flooring solution for industrial environments.
Serrated 304 Stainless Steel Grating
Serrated grating has a toothed or notched top surface on the bearing bars to increase friction and improve slip resistance. It is particularly useful where water, oil, mud or other liquids may make the walking surface slippery.
Common applications include wet industrial floors, ramps, stair treads, drainage areas and outdoor access platforms. Importantly, serration primarily improves slip resistance; it does not by itself determine the structural load capacity of the grating.
