Steel bar grating, known for its high strength and robust structure, is manufactured from carbon steel, aluminum, or stainless steel. Depending on the production method, steel grating can be categorized into four types: welded bar grating, press-locked grating, swage-locked grating, and riveted grating. Based on surface design, it is available in both smooth and serrated options.
With a wide range of styles and sizes, steel grating serves versatile applications in everyday life, including stair treads, walkways, platforms, flooring, trench covers, wheeled equipment, security screens, and heavy-duty constructions.
Welded bar grating, also known as metal open bar grating, comes in two types: smooth and serrated. Smooth, or plain steel bar grating, is more popular, but serrated grating offers better skid resistance.
Made from low carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum, press lock grating is created by bonding slotted bars under hydraulic pressure. It's strong, durable, and widely used in industrial and commercial applications like stair treads, platforms, walkways, and covers. Serrated surfaces enhance anti-slip properties.
Swage locked grating, mainly made of aluminum or stainless steel bars, is formed by inserting cross bars into pre-punched bearing bars and locking them under hydraulic pressure. It comes in three bearing bar types: rectangular, T, and I bars, with I bars being lighter and more affordable.
