A tunable diode laser gas analyzer (TDLA) is a type of gas analysis equipment that uses the principle of tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) to measure the concentration of a specific gas or gases in a sample. This technology is known for its high sensitivity, speed, and selectivity.


Here's a simple overview of how TDLA works:


1. **Laser Source**: The TDLA system includes a laser that emits light at a specific wavelength, which can be tuned to match the absorption line of the target gas.


2. **Gas Absorption**: When the laser light passes through the gas sample, the target gas molecules absorb some of the light. The amount of light absorbed is directly proportional to the concentration of the gas in the sample.


3. **Detection**: After the laser light has passed through the sample, a detector measures the intensity of the remaining light. By comparing this with the intensity of the light before it passed through the sample, the analyzer can calculate the concentration of the target gas.


**Advantages of TDLA include:**


- **Non-contact Measurement**: Since TDLA is a spectroscopic technique, it does not require the gas sample to come into contact with the analyzer, which can reduce maintenance and enhance longevity.
