1. Introduction
A Large-Diameter Ring Gear is an annular gear component with an outer diameter typically exceeding 1 meter, and can reach up to tens of meters. It is often not manufactured as a single solid gear but is constructed from multiple segmented gear rim sections. These segments are bolted together using high-strength bolts to form a complete ring, which is then mounted onto the main body of large equipment (e.g., a drum, turntable). Its core function is to transmit power and motion to a mating pinion gear, enabling the low-speed, heavy-duty, high-torque rotation of large slewing devices.
