How It Works
Segments are created in fixed patterns (e.g., 7-segment digits, battery icons, arrows).
Liquid crystals twist under an applied voltage, allowing or blocking light through polarized filters.
Only the predefined segments can be turned ON or OFF—no pixel-level control like dot-matrix displays.
Interface
Typically driven by direct drive (if few segments) or multiplexed drive (for many segments).
Driven by microcontrollers or LCD driver ICs like:
