1070 aluminum alloy is a commercially pure aluminum belonging to the 1xxx series. It is widely

used in various industries due to its excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion

resistance, and workability. Below is a detailed introduction to 1070 aluminum alloy.

Basic Characteristics

♦ Composition: Aluminum content ≥ 99.7% (with trace amounts of iron, silicon, and other impurities),

making it a high-purity industrial aluminum.

♦ Density: Approximately 2.7 g/cm³, lightweight.

♦ Melting Point: Around 660°C.

♦ Electrical Conductivity: Conductivity is about 61% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), close

 to pure aluminum (62% IACS).

♦ Thermal Conductivity: Thermal conductivity is approximately 230 W/(m·K), making it suitable for heat

dissipation applications.

♦ Corrosion Resistance: Performs well in most environments, especially in oxidizing conditions where it forms

a protective oxide layer.

1070 Aluminum Alloy's Mechanical Properties

O Temper (Annealed): Optimal ductility, suitable for deep drawing and bending.

H14/H18 Tempers: Cold-work hardened for higher strength but significantly reduced ductility.

Conductivity: Maintains high electrical (~61% IACS) and thermal conductivity (~230 W/(m·K)) in all tempers.
