Product Overview
The mechanical bar screen is a key piece of equipment used in the pretreatment stage of wastewater treatment systems. It is designed to remove large suspended solids, floating debris, and solid waste from wastewater, preventing blockage or damage to downstream equipment such as pumps and aerators.
With its simple structure, stable operation, high level of automation, and easy maintenance, this machine enables efficient and continuous solid-liquid separation and supports unattended operation of wastewater facilities.
Working Principle
The mechanical bar screen consists of a bar rack installed in the channel and a rotating chain rake system.
As wastewater flows through the screen, large suspended solids are intercepted by the bars. Driven by the chain mechanism, the rake teeth continuously lift the retained debris to the top of the screen, where it is automatically discharged into a conveyor or waste container through a self-cleaning or reverse scraping mechanism. This ensures uninterrupted removal of solid waste.
