A fiber optic connector polishing machine is a specialized precision optical device designed for fine grinding and surface finishing of fiber connector ferrules. It is core equipment in the mass production of fiber patch cords, pigtails, and optical communication components. By precisely polishing the connector end face, the machine eliminates surface scratches, resin residues, and uneven curvature, optimizing key optical performance parameters including insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL), and ensuring stable and low-loss optical signal transmission. Working Principle

The machine adopts mechanical constant-pressure orbital polishing technology. It fixes multiple fiber connectors on a dedicated polishing jig and runs preset polishing trajectories with controllable pressure, speed, and time. Through progressive grinding with different-grit polishing films, it removes residual adhesive, fiber burrs, and surface defects on the ferrule end face. The whole process achieves consistent end-face curvature, perfect fiber core flushness, and ultra-smooth surface finish, meeting industrial UPC and APC polishing standards.

Integrates digital control system with real-time display of polishing pressure, running speed, processing time and operating status. Compared with manual polishing, the automated batch polishing mode greatly improves production efficiency. A single operation can process 12–48 connectors simultaneously with stable finished product qualification rate, effectively reducing labor costs and technical dependence on workers.

Polishing Quality Standard

After professional polishing, the connector end face achieves no scratches, no pits and no dust residue. It fully complies with international industrial standards: UPC end face with ultra-low insertion loss and high return loss; APC angled end face effectively suppresses reflected light, perfectly adapting to high-precision optical signal transmission scenarios and avoiding signal interference and attenuation caused by poor end-face processing.
