4. Core Glass Melting Process Steps
Silicate forming
Raw batch materials are heated and converted into sinter composed of multiple silicates and residual free silica.
Glass liquid forming
Sinter substances melt further. Silicate and silica react to generate translucent molten glass mixed with large amounts of entrapped gas bubbles.
Refining (Clearing)
Continuous heating reduces glass melt viscosity, promotes discharge of gaseous impurities and removes visible large bubbles inside molten bath.
Homogenization
Molten glass keeps high‑temperature status for long‑time operation. Diffusion effect eliminates composition striae and achieves uniform thermal and chemical performance of glass liquid.
Cooling
Adjust molten glass viscosity to target value which matches the requirement of downstream glass forming process.
5. Main Furnace Structure
Melting section
Core working zone for raw material melting, fining and homogenization. Upper area is flame space; lower melting tank stores accumulated molten glass.
Dog house
Feeding opening for raw batch materials. Heat radiates from flame space to the surface of molten glass bath.
Air and gas access
Pre‑heated combustion air and fuel gas flow through this passage into pre‑combustion chamber after coming out from regenerator for sufficient mixing.
Port
Key functional component for combustion. It serves as mixing position for fuel and pre‑heated air, meanwhile acts as inlet for combustion air and exhaust outlet for flue gas.
6. Furnace Melting Technology System
Complete melting control system covers temperature gradient setting, furnace pressure adjustment, bubbling system control, glass liquid level monitoring, fuel supply and reversing system logic.
